A couple of teachers were explaining to me how the pilgrims left Leiden (the Netherlands) in the Mayflower and had to make a stop in Rotterdam for repairs before heading across the Atlantic to the New World. They were seeking religious freedom, but my own thought is that they must have left the Netherlands because there were no turkeys to be found in the grocery stores here. Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinners!!
