Western Carolina University Percussion Ensemble’s performance of “Scenes from Earth”

Listen to a sample of the Western Carolina University Percussion Ensemble’s performance of “Scenes from Earth.” Hear sounds from icy, Arctic winds to the drumming and birdcalls of an African rainforest in the landscapes painted in the piece’s four movements. Composed by Mario Gaetano, WCU professor of music, “Scenes from Earth’ won the 2007 Hinda Honigman Cup award for composing from the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs.
