Well, Summer is over and gone and the new school year has started. Only being in classes for one week now, a lot of stuff has been going on. The sororities are in full season, because this week is Rush week for them and in less then 2 weeks, Fraternities will start our Rush. Rush, in general has changed a little bit since I first went through rush. Overall, I am very excited and think SigEp will have a great Fall Rush of 2006. I didn’t update as much as I would have wished this summer because I was extremely busy with working a lot and working at camp this summer. The camp is called “Camp Care” and it is a camp for children that have been affected by cancer(sibling) or currently have or had cancer. This was my real 2nd year with camp and this year I was a Counseler, last year I was a Counseler in training or CIT. This years camp theme was Mardi Gras and it was so much fun. During the year, we also have things called “Reality Checks”, they are when kids and families and staff all go do something on the weekend like a boat trip, zoo, or going to a panthers game. The Camps website is Camp Care.
Overall I am excitied for this year, just last week we had Valley Bally Hoo here at WCU. It is somewhat of a kick-off to the year event where organizations have tables and there is tons of food, games, and music. Classes look like a lot of fun so far. Being a Junior Marketing major I am just now starting to crack into some of my major, Marketing classes, which look great. I also in the planning phases of starting a new student organization, which I will talk about more when I know more information.
